Wrighty's Reads

I've always loved to read and enjoy a wide variety of genres. My favorites tend to be humor, mysteries, thrillers, chick lit, fantasy, paranormal, dystopian, young adult, children's books and most combinations of those previously mentioned.

The Art of Racing in the Rain

The Art of Racing in the Rain - Garth Stein I loved this book! It was a very creative and touching story. The narrator is a dog who is part of a loving family. He is extremely intelligent and has learned by being a good listener and watching TV. He is sure that his soul is basically human and in his next life he will come back as a man. He also feels that he has tasks to perform in this life before he can move on. This family faces many serious and sometimes tragic situations and he needs to do his part to help them through it. The father of the family is a race car driver, a passion he shares with his dog, and there are many racing analogies throughout the story. You don't need to be a dog lover or a racing enthusiast to enjoy this book and to get the lessons taught in it. The pages flew by and although I wanted to know what happened I also didn't want it to end. I will definitely be reading more of this author's work.
