Before I read this book I read "Elsewhere" by the same author. I really liked that book so I wanted to read more. Both books involve fantasy and journeys through people's lives. "Margarettown" is also a love story and the highs and lows that go with it. It's described as part memoir, part fable, part journey through the many worlds of one woman - that's a very good description that makes more sense later in the book. The story is written by the man in love with Margaret. I enjoyed it but it took me a little while to figure out what was going on. I guess that was part of the reader's journey and it did keep things interesting. I do like the way Gabrielle Zevin writes and will be looking for more of her books.
