Pray for Silence (Kate Burkholder Series #2)

Pray for Silence - Linda Castillo Police chief Kate Burkholder returns for a second novel in Amish Country. A family of seven is killed in a brutal mass murder on their farm. With no clues and no leads FBI agent John Tomasetti is brought in to help. He has assisted in the past and had a previous relationship with Kate. The couple begin a delicate dance personally and professionally as they work to solve this mystery. This plot is intense and suspenseful with twists and turns. The victims appear to be an unremarkable family until secrets are revealed. The Amish lifestyle creates an interesting juxtaposition with the police procedures, examples of Kate's past and present. The characters are interesting and are becoming more developed. Besides the mystery there is also a bit of romance as tentative steps are taken towards a possible relationship. The complex strands of the story come together in an exciting climax. This has been a thrilling series so far and I look forward to more books in the future.Thank you to LibraryThing Early Reviewers for a copy of this book.
